Stella Desire: inducted into THE HORROR HOST HALL OF FAME

 Though the hit comedy, "Saturday Night Live," spelled certain doom for many commercial horror hosts in the early 80's, there was one hostess who'd make it little more than an appetizer to her main course! Thanks to Stella Desire and her ghoulish sidekicks from KYW-TV's "Saturday Night Dead," Philadelphia viewers could keep their laughs going long past the witching hour. The show ran from 1984-1990 it was heralded as the East Coast's answer to "Elvira," Stella would boast her own style of bust and bawdiness while revealing the comic genius of her creator(and alter ego) Karen Scioli.
